Discover Osteria Da Fernando

If you're in Rome and craving a comforting, authentic meal in a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Osteria Da Fernando is a must-visit spot. Located at Via di Fontana Candida, 91, 00132 Roma RM, Italy, this charming restaurant offers a blend of traditional Roman cuisine and a cozy vibe that’ll make you feel right at home.

One of the first things you'll notice when stepping into Osteria Da Fernando is its casual yet intimate setting. Whether you’re sitting inside surrounded by rustic wooden tables or outside enjoying the breeze, the restaurant exudes a relaxed charm. The staff greets you with a friendly smile, and you instantly feel the authentic Roman hospitality that sets the tone for your dining experience.

The menu here is a beautiful reflection of classic Roman cuisine. From fresh pasta dishes to savory meat options, there’s something for everyone. One standout dish is the “Cacio e Pepe,” a simple yet incredibly flavorful pasta made with creamy Pecorino cheese and black pepper. The pasta is perfectly cooked, and the richness of the sauce, combined with the sharpness of the cheese, creates a satisfying bite in every forkful.

For those who enjoy a more substantial meal, the "Saltimbocca alla Romana" is a classic choice. This dish, featuring tender veal wrapped in prosciutto and sage, cooked to perfection, is served with a delicious sauce that enhances the flavors. It's a true taste of Roman tradition, and Osteria Da Fernando does it justice.

The restaurant’s wine list is also impressive. Offering a selection of local wines, you can easily pair your meal with a glass of crisp white or a bold red from Lazio’s vineyards. If you're unsure which wine to choose, the staff is always more than happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences.

Aside from its delicious food and wine, the atmosphere at Osteria Da Fernando is another reason to return. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy a relaxed evening with friends or family. The decor feels homey, and the low-key vibe ensures you can focus on enjoying your meal without distractions. It's a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of Rome’s busy streets.

Osteria Da Fernando is also well known for its desserts. The “Tiramisu,” a traditional Italian favorite, is a crowd-pleaser. It's light and fluffy, with just the right amount of coffee flavor to complement the creamy mascarpone. For those who prefer something fruity, the “Panna Cotta with Berry Compote” is a refreshing option, balancing sweetness with the tang of fresh berries.

The quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the service at Osteria Da Fernando make it a memorable dining experience. It’s no surprise that this gem has earned rave reviews from locals and tourists alike. With a mix of flavors that stay true to Roman traditions and a setting that makes you feel at ease, this spot is perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious meal in a relaxed environment.

Whether you're stopping by for lunch, a casual dinner, or even a drink to wind down the day, Osteria Da Fernando offers a true taste of Rome. From the first bite to the last sip of wine, it’s an experience that captures the essence of the city's culinary heritage, making it a standout choice for food lovers visiting the area.

  • CARISSIMO.

Thanks

  • We had a lovely dinner at Osteria Da Fernando. The pasta dishes were very tasty and authentic, especially well seasoned and freshly prepared. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, giving a true Italian feeling. Although we had to wait around 40–60 minutes for a table, the food and overall experience made it worth it. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Definitely a nice place for Italian cuisine.

  • Fantastic truly Roman restaurant very off the beaten track. I had Tonarelli with black truffles, excellent abbacchio and an amazing pistachio tartuffo.
